(St. Paul, MN) – Minnesota Homeland Security and Emergency Management is tracking storm damages from counties around the state.
Here are the latest reports of damages sustained from the April winter storm from each county:
Blue Earth County: Downed power lines and poles with widespread power outages.
Nicollet County: Scattered power outages. Crews battling strong wind gusts to make repairs.
Waseca County: No travel advisory issued. The sheriff’s office is assisting with road closures.
Le Sueur County: Power outages for both Xcel Energy and electrical cooperatives in the area.
Steele County: Widespread power outages. Time frame to restore power is 2 to 4 days.
Cottonwood County: Plows have been pulled from the roadways due to fallen power lines and poor visibility. There are a number of power outages; crews are working to restore service.
Faribault County: Nearly 100 downed power poles. A shelter has been open at the Kiester Community Center. The Red Cross is assisting.
Freeborn County: More than 200 downed power poles. Utilities are calling partners to help with repairs. Thousands of customers without power. Downed power lines have closed Highway 13. Outages will not be restored for a couple of days.
Lyon County: An estimated 50 additional power company crews are working to get power restored.
Murray County: Cities of Curry and Avoca are without power.
McLeod County: Penn and Round Grove Townships have 100 percent power outages.
Pipestone County: A warming shelter has been opened in Ruthton following power outages.
Rock County: Unknown number of residents without power after electrical poles snapped on County Road 6. A shelter is now open in Jasper. The Salvation Army is issuing vouchers for those who cannot afford a hotel.
Yellow Medicine County: 1,000 without power.
Fillmore County: Power outages will not be restored for a couple of days.
Dodge County: Multiple downed power lines over roadways.
