Edina could become the first city in Minnesota to raise the minimum tobacco-buying age to 21.
The city council met with a packed house to discuss the vote…. so much so they had overflow seating outside the room. The decision would make Edina the first city in Minnesota to ban the sale of tobacco to people under 21.
Businesses that sell tobacco say their numbers will be hurt, but statistics show that only 3% of tobacco users are under the age of 21.
Do you think they should raise the age to purchase tobacco products?
