Perkins & Marie Callender’s files bankruptcy; local locations remain in operation

(Memphis, TN) – Perkins & Marie Callender’s LLC has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The news of Monday’s protection filing came just a day after the company closed 10 Perkins and 19 Marie Callender restaurants around the country. About 1,200 employees were affected by the closures.

The company said it plans to sell off its Perkins’ business and part of is Foxtail bakery operations.

The remaining restaurants are expected to remain in operation.

Carrie Moran, a manager at the Mankato Perkins said the restaurant will not only remain open but will shift to 24/7 hours in September after school starts.

The New Ulm Perkins also confirmed the location was not affected by the closures.
