North Mankato weighs options for Judson Bottom Road
(Mankato, MN) – The City of North Mankato is considering its options for the luckless Judson Bottom Road.
Fallen rock and trees from mudslides caused by excessive rains have kept the road closed for most of spring and summer.
The city council toured the road yesterday and deemed it too dangerous to reopen anytime soon, as more rockslides look probable.
The city is faced with the possibility that it may not be feasible to reopen the road – which closes nearly every spring – to motor vehicles. At the city council meeting next week, officials will discuss whether to eventually repair and reopen the road to traffic or maintain it as a path for bicycles and pedestrians.
