New Prague man to be charged with criminal Vehicular Homicide following fatal crash last night.

A 26-year-old man is dead after a one car crash in Le Sueur County and the driver is expected to be charged with criminal vehicular homicide.

The Sheriff’s Office says a car rolled over in a bean field and erupted into flames shortly before 11:30pm Thursday on 141st Avenue southeast of New Prague. When deputies arrived, both occupants were outside the vehicle and police from New Prague were already rendering aid.

The passenger, 26-year-old Jarrett Frederick Luethe of Sparta, Wisconsin, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The alleged driver, 34-year-old Jesse Dean Brown of New Prague, was taken by ambulance to the hospital and once he was medically cleared he was arrested.

Authorities say during the course of the investigation, deputies suspected that alcohol played a factor in the accident. Brown is currently jailed in Le Sueur County with charges pending of drunk driving and criminal vehicular homicide.
