Minister From Sleepy Eye Faces Multiple Charges

A  36-year-old Sleepy Eye man arrested  south of the State Highway 68 and 15 intersection Saturday night appeared in Brown County District Court yesterday afternoon.

Rev. Clint M. Evans was charged with felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, misdemeanor fourth-degree DWI, and two counts of failure to notify the owner of damaged property, after a high-speed chase and multiple crashes in and around New Ulm.

Bail was set at $30,000 but Evans was released from jail on his own recognizance with conditions. Conditions include no alcohol or chemical use, being subject to random testing, no law violations and a 10 p.m. curfew.

Evans has waived his right to a Rule 8 hearing. An omnibus hearing is set for 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31.
