Manslaughter Charges Dropped Against Man Who Shot and Killed Trespasser

David Pettersen has pleaded guilty to dangerous discharge of a weapon and the manslaughter charges have been dropped. He made the plea today in Watonwan County District Court.  He will sentenced on July 11th.

Many people in Southern Minnesota felt he should have never been charged. It creates compelling discussion in regards to ‘Stand Your Ground Laws’ as you may have heard when we discussed this on air shortly after it happened.
