(St. Paul, MN) – The Mankato metropolitan area saw a slight increase in job growth in July compared to the same time last year.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development released data today that indicates the region saw a 1% over-the-year increase, with 541 jobs added during the month of July.  The region outpaced the Twin Cities and Duluth-Superior metro areas but was slightly behind the growth of the Rochester and St. Cloud regions.
Meanwhile, the state of Minnesota saw a slight increase in unemployment from June, with the rate edging up one-tenth to 3.4%.
The state’s labor force participation rate remained strong, at 70%.
