The results from Minnesota’s latest crackdown on speeding are in and it appears there are plenty of folks with lead feet in the Mankato area.

Statewide, more than 16,000 citations for speeding were handed out between July 7th and July 23rd; and hundreds of those ticketed were in south central Minnesota.

The Mankato Department of Public Safety ticketed 92 people for speeding, while police in the much smaller town of Madison Lake ticketed 91 motorists.

In comparison, police in St. Peter ticketed 16 speeders, Lake Crystal police cited 10, Mapleton police ticketed 7, and in Janesville, police only ticketed 1 speeder during the two week crackdown.
