Le Sueur County awarded $6 million for water projects

(St. Paul, MN) – The Minnesota Public Facilities Authority announced today that a southern Minnesota county will receive millions of dollars for water infrastructure projects.

Le Sueur County will get $6,090,682 in funding from PFA for the construction of a low-pressure sanitary sewer system around West Jefferson Lake.

The award will also help construct a force main to the city of Cleveland for treatment.  Nearly $5 million in Point Source Implementation Grants will cover most of the costs.  The remaining funding comes from a Clean Water Revolving Fund loan of $1.2 million.

“Making sure Minnesotans have access to water is one of the most important responsibilities of government,” said Steve Grove, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. “These improvements will allow these Greater Minnesota communities to continue serving residents and businesses.”
