(Mankato, MN) – Three people avoided injury following a rollover crash on County Road 17 near the 586th Avenue roundabout.

Captain Paul Barta said that a vehicle westbound on County Road 17 lost traction and rolled.  An adult driver and two children who were passengers were evaluated at the scene and found not to have injuries.

The Blue Earth Sheriff’s office responded to the crash at 7:45 a.m.  Road conditions were snowy and icy at the time.  Captain Barta said besides regular road maintenance, additional measures would be taken to keep the roads clear.

On Monday afternoon, a 44-year-old Mankato man was killed when his vehicle crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic on County Road 17.  The Blue Earth County Sheriff said ice and snow-covered roads likely contributed to the crash.
