(West Des Moines, IA) – Shopko in St. Peter is closing its doors, but the pharmacy will remain open under new ownership.

Iowa-based grocery chain Hy-Vee has announced they’ve acquired the assets for the St. Peter Shopko location, along with five other Shopko pharmacies in Iowa and Nebraska.

“The Shopko pharmacy in these six communities will soon become a Hy-Vee Pharmacy that will operate in the existing Shopko building, despite the news that Shopko is closing these locations,” the company said in a press release.

In a Facebook post, Hy-Vee said they’ll start operating from the St. Peter location on February 18th.  Shopko pharmacy patients will receive a letter from Hy-Vee with details.

Hy-Vee has now acquired 28 pharmacies from Shopko since December 2018.
