Hilltop Florist closing after 139 years in Mankato

(Mankato, MN) – Hilltop Florist is celebrating its 139th anniversary in July, but it will also be a solemn occasion as the owners announce their intent to close the store.

“It is with heavy hearts that we would like to announce that after 43 years, the current owners of Hilltop Florist and Greenhouse have decided to retire,” said the store’s Facebook post.

The owners say because they have no heir to take over the business, it will close effective on July 27th.

“We are actively looking for an enthusiastic and motivated buyer to continue the Hilltop Florist legacy and traditions,” continued the post.

Wedding clients will continue to be serviced through January 2020.

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” the owners said. We will genuinely miss serving the Greater Mankato Area Community and the floral industry we so deeply love.”
