(Mankato, MN) – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will continue its longstanding tradition of offering free admission to state parks this weekend.

Governor Tim Walz has declared June 2019 as Great Outdoors Month, and his office, along with the DNR has issued a challenge: “School’s Out – Camp Out.”    The challenge encourages school-aged children and their families to camp in one of Minnesota’s state parks and recreation areas the first Saturday of summer break.

The free admission to all parks will be Saturday, June 8th, also known as National Get Outdoors Day.
