Convicted Mankato Felon Allegedly Found With Loaded Gun, Synthetic Weed

(Mankato, MN) – A  man who fell asleep in his vehicle at a Mankato gas station is facing criminal charges after the store employee called police to check on his welfare.

Twenty-seven-year-old Dylan James Buhr of Mankato, was charged with a firearm violation by a felon convicted of a crime of violence, a felony.  He also faces charges of DWI and possession of synthetic cannabinoid.

According to the criminal complaint, an employee at the Holiday gas station on Riverfront called police to check on a man – later identified as Buhr – sleeping in his vehicle.   Burr was located at 3rd Avenue and Maxfield Street after the employee told police the vehicle had left prior to their arrival.

Police say Buhr appeared drowsy and slow when they asked him to step out of the vehicle.  According to the complaint, Buhr voluntarily told police that it was synthetic weed they’d located in his pants pocket and in two different places in his vehicle.  Officers also found a loaded Cobra .9mm handgun under the driver’s seat of Buhr’s vehicle, according to court documents.

In an interview with police, Buhr said the last thing he remembered was taking a Xanax bar, according to the complaint.  Police say that Buhr also told investigators he might have done a line of cocaine, but that his memory was a little blurry.

Buhr has a number of previous convictions in Blue Earth County, including DWI, felony controlled substance, 1st-degreee burglary, and aiding and abetting 2nd-degree assault.
