Charges: Alleged child rapist vanishes after abuse confrontation
(St. James, MN) – St. James police have issued a warrant for a man that allegedly repeatedly raped a girl known to him.
Herson Omar Marroquin, 27, of St. James, was charged Monday with six counts of felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct in Watonwan County.
The criminal complaint says a girl under the age of 13 confided in her mother that Marroquin had raped her multiple times over the past eight months. The victim indicated the last rape had occurred on July 23rd. She said Marroquin made her take a shower and washed her clothing so her mother wouldn’t find out about the rapes.
The girl’s mother confronted Marroquin, who initially denied the accusations, but “grew more and more quiet,” the complaint says. Marroquin then left the residence and has not since been seen.
