A 42-year-old Mankato man is jailed pending formal charges after allegedly leading police on a high speed pursuit early Friday morning.

The Mankato Department of Public Safety says officers working on a criminal investigation tried to contact Aaron Winter Carson around 1:00am. Carson allegedly drove away in his vehicle and police gave chase, but pursuits in Mankato and Blue Earth County were terminated due to safety concerns.

Carson was later located and taken into custody after his vehicle became disabled.  Recommended charges are fleeing police and violating an order for protection.

Responding to the incident with the Mankato Department of Public Safety were the Blue Earth County Sheriff and Tri-City Police departments, and the Minnesota State Patrol.
