The Minnesota Vikings are finishing up one of the more impressive training facilities in Eagan as I write this. It includes an indoor practice facility as well as 6 outdoor fields….and, state-of-the-art everything.
Being a resident of Mankato, and a lifelong Vikings Fan….I would love to see them stay, but common sense tells me we may experience the last training camp here this year. If we’re lucky 2018 as well….IF we’re lucky.
Here is what Owner/President Mark Wilf said about the new Eagan facility.
“First and foremost, we’re going to give our players the best possible environment to succeed, and that’s still our ultimate goal, to win Lombardi Trophies. … The facility is going to provide much needed modernization and upgrades that set the pace within the NFL and are critical in recruiting and retaining future players.”
Their contract runs through 2018, but COO Kevin Warren said on Wednesday the team could get out of that contract by this December.
ESPN is reporting that that decision could be made by the end of the year.
