It’s The Unofficial End Of Summer, And Retail Isn’t Wasting Time When It Comes To The Holidays

It is September 4th, and that means it’s time to start thinking about Halloween…and Christmas in Mankato.

The Spirit Halloween store opened Friday in the former Gordman’s location, joining the Halloween Express which opened in the former Mexican Village building earlier last week.

And while Halloween is still two months away and then there’s Thanksgiving that we need to get through, it’s apparently not to early to start thinking about Christmas.

At the Mankato Walmart, the holiday layaway program began Friday and runs through December 11th. Total purchases must be $50 or more, and shoppers must make a down-payment of $10 or 10% on a single item, whichever is greater.
