Record Heat Expected Tomorrow In Southern Minnesota

Fall officially arrives in Mankato on Friday, but it will feel more like the dead of summer with record setting temps expected.

The National Weather Service (NWS) says the heat index* across southern Minnesota on Friday could reach into the triple digits, with the latest model showing it’ll be around 97° in Mankato.

NWS says those planning outdoor activities should use caution, take breaks, and drink plenty of water.

Saturday is also expected to be another scorcher in the Mankato area, but temps should moderate by early next week, with the high on Tuesday expected to be around 65.
