Rash Of Burglaries & Thefts In Madelia, Surrounding Communities

Area law enforcement is urging folks to make sure their homes, garages and cars are locked, after a rash of burglaries and thefts in Madelia and surrounding communities in the last 48 hours.

Madelia Police say suspects have been going into unlocked residences, garages, and vehicles, so they say don’t leave your valuables in your cars and make sure to lock up your stuff.  “Most criminals will move on from the locked stuff to the easier target which is the unlocked vehicle next door.”

Residents are also asked to any suspicious activity, vehicles or persons. “If you see something that doesn’t seem right, pick up the phone and give us a call. Always better to be safe than sorry.
