POLICE CHIEF OF WALNUT GROVE ARRESTED IN UNDERAGE PROSTITUTION STING.

The Police Chief of Walnut Grove has been arrested for allegedly soliciting sex with a teenage girl.

Forty-five-year-old Michael Robert Zeug is charged with one felony count of Engaging In, Hiring or Agreeing to Hire a Minor to Engage in Prostitution. It is alleged that Zeug solicited sex with an individual he believed was a 17-year-old female.

Zeug’s arrest came as part of Operation Guardian Angel, which was a covert operation designed to target the demand of underage sex trafficking. Also arrested for soliciting underage girls were 41-year-old Scott Glenn Berglund of Montevideo and 40-year-old Javier Bulmaro Turrubiartes of Renville.

Law enforcement officers posted an advertisement on two websites, backpage.com and craigslist.org. These sites are commonly used by individuals looking to engage in commercial sex trafficking and prostitution, said Redwood County Attorney Steven Collins.
