Oakdale Principals Death Ruled Suicide.

Oakdale Principal Joe Slavin, took his own life in a Woodbury Park, authorities confirmed Thursday.

According to a preliminary report from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner, he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“This is a very difficult time for everyone that knew Mr. Slavin, the family is grateful for the outpouring of support, asks that everyone is respectful of their privacy as they grieve this sudden loss.”

Wednesday, police found the mans bod at Carver Lake Park about 8:30 a.m.

Later that day, the South Washington County district released  brief message saying the 45-year-old had died unexpectedly.

He leaves behind a wife and three daughters.
