After being closed for the last six weeks, the ALDI grocery store on Madison Avenue in Mankato is again open.
ALDI reopened this morning (Thursday) and the parking lot was packed with customers who had been waiting patiently to get back into the aisles.
The remodeled and expanded store includes a stronger focus on fresh items, including more robust produce, dairy and bakery sections. ALDI has also increased its gluten-free and organic food offerings, along with a full line of baby products.
An official ribbon-cutting will be held at 8:25 am on Tuesday, September 26th, with the public invited to attend.
Following the ceremony, the first 100 customers will receive a golden ticket, each containing ALDI gift cards of various amounts. Customers can also enter an on-site sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of produce.
The remodeled Mankato location will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
“Whether you’re a current ALDI customer or you haven’t stopped by your local ALDI lately, we invite you to come experience the new ALDI look and see how we’ve expanded our fresh offerings while staying true to our everyday low prices,” said Matt Lilla, Faribault division vice president for ALDI.
The local upgrades are part of ALDI’s $1.6 billion nationwide plan to remodel and expand more than 1,300 of its stores by 2020.
