New Ulm Woman With No Pants On Walking State Highway 4 Charged With Allegedly Stealing Motor Vehicle

A 38-year-old woman who apparently was residing at the Affordable New Ulm Motel faces two felony theft charges in Brown County District Court, after allegedly stealing a motor vehicle in broad daylight Monday afternoon.

A witness reported walking out of a local business and encountering a  combative stranger in the driver seat of her vehicle. The stranger then drove off and headed north on Broadway. The vehicle was reported stolen shortly thereafter.

Sleepy Eye Police were then alerted to a woman walking the ditch of State Highway 4 without any pants on. Authorities caught up with her in the Miller Sellner Implement parking lot, where she identified herself as Shannon M. Minto.

She showed signs of impairment and attempted to flee but was caught by officers and escorted to the squad car. She was then taken to the Brown County Evaluation Center.
