Man Upset With Wait Time, Allegedly Pulls Knife At Mankato Clinic….

A 58-year-old man stands accused of pulling a knife at the Mankato Clinic, after apparently becoming upset about how long he had to wait to be seen.

James Lawrence McNamee Jr., is jailed today pending a long list of possible charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon, fleeing police and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mankato police say they were called to a disturbance at the Main Street clinic just after 4:00 Tuesday afternoon. It was reported that McNamee had become upset and was yelling and swearing at staff, while children were present. A bystander stepped in and told McNamee to please calm down, at which time McNamee allegedly pulled a knife and held it in the bystander’s direction.

Police were called and McNamee fled on his bicycle. Soon after, officers spotted him and say he refused orders to stop. McNamee was finally apprehended in the 900 block of South Front Street, but police say during his arrest he resisted and fought with officers.
