Man Caught Peeping On Girls At Mankato Dance Studio With His Cellphone Gets Probation

The man who was caught allegedly trying to peep into a bathroom used by a Mankato dance studio has been sentenced to two years probation for his guilty plea to Interfering with Privacy.

Thirty-one-year-old Andrew Felten of Rochester was also fined $500 and has a one-year jail term hanging over his head, should he violate terms of his probation.

According to the complaint, Mankato police were called to the dance studio in March 2016 after several girls, ages 7 to 14, repeatedly saw him crouching near a bathroom door with his cell phone out. There was a gap at the bottom of the door that allowed a view into the bathroom and the students reported that it appeared as if Felten was either taking pictures or videos.

And while there were minors present in the area at the time, in earlier dismissing 2 felony counts against Felten, a judge ruled that the only person who used the restroom while he was trying to peep under the door was over 18.

Felten is a convicted sex offender, having been found guilty of criminal sexual conduct in the 4th degree in 2010.
