Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Deputy Shoots Pit Bull

A Kandiyohi County Deputy has shot and wounded a pit bull he said was acting aggressively in Lake Lillian.

The Sheriff’s Office says they were called to Lake Lillian just before noon on Tuesday on the report of a loose pit bull, which had chased a woman into a business near the post office.

Deputies arrived, and within seconds of them exiting their car, they say the dog aggressively charged them.  One of the deputies shot the dog and it retreated.

The owner of the pit bull was contacted and he brought the dog to a local veterinarian.   Its condition is unknown.  No one else was injured.
