The Kandiyohi County Sheriff is conducting an investigation into what appears to be a disturbing case of animal cruelty. Tuesday morning they responded to a call about a ‘deceased canine’ in Point Lake. The lake is near the city of Willmar.
The animal was discovered about 200 feet off shore in about 6 feet of water tied to a boat anchor.
The animal had no identification tags, only being described as a springer spaniel about 5 years old with mostly white markings.
Anyone with information about the apparent drowning is asked to contact the Kandiyohi County sheriff at 320-214-6700.
