Children’s Clothing Store GYMBOREE Faces Bankruptcy…

Gymboree, one the more popular children’s clothing stores, is facing bankruptcy. Proving that no one is immune to the mounting struggles that retailers face when it comes to bringing people into the brick and mortar locations of decades past.

The company has nearly 1,300 stores, including about 750 with the Gymboree brand as well as stores under the Crazy 8 and Janie and Jack brands. One of the company’s bankruptcy filings said that a consultant suggested it close about 375 stores to free up capital. The company has not yet revealed any store closing details. They currently employ more than 11,000 people according to a filing.
