Charges: Madison Lake Man Bloodies Female Cop In Escape Attempt At MCHS Hospital

A 25-year-old man from Madison Lake is facing a handful of criminal charges after allegedly assaulting a police officer at the MCHS Hospital in Mankato.

Ronnie Christian Larson is accused of three counts of assault, along with escape from custody, fleeing police and obstructing the legal process.

According to the complaint, Larson was at the hospital and under police custody on September 8th when he left his room and tried to make a run for it. An officer on site gave chase and when she grabbed onto Larson, he allegedly pushed her to the ground. The officer kept ahold of Larson’s shirt as she fell and he then pushed his hands against her face and kicked at her body and was able to break free and run down the hallway.

Larson then got to another door, but it was locked, so he turned around and started back toward the officer. At that point, the officer pulled out her taser and ordered Larson to get on the ground, which he did hesitantly.

After Larson was cuffed, the officer said she realized she could taste blood in her mouth, as Larson had blood all over his hands and she sustained a cut above her lip.

Court documents say Larson had also tried to run from police the day before.
