21 Year Old Man Jailed After High Speed Chase With Toddler In The Car

A 21-year-old man is jailed this morning after allegedly leading police on a high speed chase, while a toddler was in his car.

Authorities say the man was clocked going 112 MPH around 11:00 Friday night on Waseca County Road 2. A Sheriff’s Deputy and Janesville Police tried to stop the car, but he wouldn’t pull over.

The pursuit, with speeds over 100 MPH, then went to Blue Earth County Road 15, through St. Clair on Main Street, north on State Highway 83 and west on County Road 90.

As the man tried to turn onto Blue Earth County Road 8, the Waseca County Sheriff’s Deputy performed a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) on the vehicle, causing it to go into the ditch.

The driver was taken into custody and authorities located a one-year-old child in the back seat.  The child was cleared by paramedics with no apparent injuries.

The suspect is jailed in Waseca County pending formal charges.
