2017 Minnesota State Fair Smashes Attendance Records

After last years strong showing for attendance, some thought it may be awhile before we would see such crowds again.

Not so much.

Fed by multiple single day records this summer, the final number Monday night was 1,997,320. Smashing the previous record of 1,943,719 set in 2016.

Grandstand acts like Mellancamp, Pentatonix, and the sold out Sam Hunt show on the final night, combined with cooler and more comfortable temps were all believed to be contributing factors.

Also new this year, the 15-story-high Great Big Wheel, promoted as the tallest traveling Ferris wheel in North America, totaled 124,958 rides.
